Description
Brown’s Bank has remained the heart of Eyemouth shipbuilding from 1841 when James Weatherhead began building fishing vessels from the mouth of the river Eye (or ‘Eye water’). Not only did the shipwrights of Brown’s Bank build the local fleet, they also contributory largely to the entire East Coast fleet as a whole.
Currently held by Coastal Marine Ltd, Eyemouth still provides specialists who repair commercial vessels from around the world.
